LISTEN TO THESE 11
UPCOMING ARTIST
Becoming a mainstream artiste has little to do with churning out
good music but rather, making a hit song, your connections, production and your
link with top DJs in the country.
For those of us who just don’t listen to mainstream music, we know there
are quite some few guys out there doing great songs but the world is yet to
hear them.
Some are quite known but they’ve not made it that big yet and we wish to
unveil them.
1. RAP FADA
Rap Fada is a young lad in Kumasi who is doing great with some nice
tunes to his credit but one of his most captivating songs is “Otan”, with some
nice highlife tunes fused with Afropop and hiphop and it’s must listen.
2. SEAN TAYLOR
Sean Taylor is a very talented dancehall artist who has been in this
game for quite some time now and although he’s not made it big yet, he’s still
churning some good music.
3. STRONGMAN
By now we know most of you are aware of what Strongman is capable of.
He’s one of the most creative rappers out there and deserves to be in the
mainstream by now. He was on the “The Next Big Thing In Hiphop GH”, he came out
as the winner.
4. RATTY
Ratty is also another creative rapper and seems to be in the same camp
with Strongman. He featured in Vodafone Icons and made some few strides but
we’ve not heard anything major from him yet but quite recently he did a nice
piece for peaceful elections and he clearly proves his prowess on lyrics.
5. WILLIE MAAME
Willie Maame for some time now has been doing great with some fine tunes
but unfortunately he’s still underground but we feel is one hell of an act most
Ghanaians need to hear.
6. BENK MONI
Benk Moni has been doing his thing for quite some time but hasn’t made
it big yet but you need to hear him to understand why we think he will do
great. His new joint, “Mmaa Wo Adum” featuring Cabum and Flowking stone is one
hell of a good song that needs to make it big, all they need is to push hard,
because so far, it is gaining grounds.
7. KANKAM
If you’re the kind who loves to listen to highlife jazz and afropop,
then this is the man you need to hear sing. He’s one hell of good singer and
his dexterity with the guitar is also on another level. Singing is something
that runs in the family because he’s related to Bertha, the lady who was
featured on Okyeame Kwame’s “Faithful Girl”.
8. K. DANSO
Another great dancehall act most Ghanaians need to hear. With his
natural voice, he doesn’t stress at all when he’s on the mic.
9. DEON
Talk about R&B and this is the guy who brings it to life in Ghana,
with his silky voice, he’s churned out some beautiful tunes many Ghanaians are
yet to hear. His latest, “Awure” is doing great and it’s better than most
mainstream songs.
10. KOJO CUE
Kojo Cue could be added to the list of god MC’s in Ghana, this gentleman could easily make
it on the list. His dexterity with his lyrics shows he’s got a great future
ahead if he keeps pushing. He’s one good rapper most Ghanaians need to listen
to.
11. CURRENCY
This young man is also one hell of a creative rapper with the ability to
devise a rap for every situation but we’ve still not heard any major track from
him yet but we believe he’s got a great future too and can easily make it with
the right production. He’s got many freestyles of issues bothering the country
on the internet.
